History of Kettle Corn NYC

Kettle Corn NYC, founded by Professional Chef Ken Nercessian, popped onto the New York scene in April, 2004. We made our debut at New York City street festivals with only one flavor of kettle corn.

Drawn in by a delicious aroma filling the city streets, New Yorkers couldn’t get enough of our delicious fresh hand-popped (straight out of the kettle) kettle corn. With culinary creativity popping, it was virtually impossible to keep from developing additional flavors of gourmet popcorn and we started to grow.

We began with our Original Kettle Corn, which has a perfect balance of sweet and salty, just like at the county fair. We have created our own unique flavors of kettlecorn such as Cajun, French Toast, Cheddar-Caramel, Chocolate-Cinnamon, Spicy Ranch, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Coconut, Smores, Amaretto, Vanilla, Espresso, Chocolate Covered Cherry, Mint Chocolate, Chocolate Cinnamon, etc...

Following our 2nd season the Kettle Corn truck containing all of the popcorn equipment and kettle corn supplies was stolen.

Instead of giving up and walking away we started up again the next season without skipping a beat.

We have been attending NYC street fairs every weekend from April to mid-November since making our infamous fresh hand-popped kettlecorn.

Throughout the year we attend or donate kettle corn to several charities and/or fundraisers. Including The Ultimate Summertime Party in Central Park and the 4th Annual Taste For Hope, A Food, Wine and Spirit Tasting Event, for The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

We also donated kettle corn to the 2008 Annual Fathers Day Picnic in Coney Island and NYC Dads Halloween Party. NYC DADS is a citywide initiative of the New York City Human Resources Administration/ Department of Social Services (HRA) that focuses on the important role fathers play in their children's lives.

We donated to Stand Up For A Safe America, presented by The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence in 2007 and 2008.

When the weather warmed up a bit, we introduced Lemon Shakers. Lemon Shakers are fresh squeezed lemonade, the best lemonade in the world! Prepared right before your eyes, we slice the lemon into wedges. Then we add sugar and hand press them down with the muddler, releasing all their natural juices. We add water and ice and shake them up with such a commotion attracting all to see! Then we pour them into a gigantic 32oz. cup for you to enjoy. New Yorkers couldn’t get a block away before returning for a refill. Our flavors include Original Lemonade, Lime Lemonade, Mixed Berries Lemonade and even Concorde Grape Lemonade. Limeade and Orangeade are also very popular. Unfortunately we will not have Lemon Shakers this season.
