About The Founder
Ken Nercessian, the creator & owner of Nercessian Kettle Corn NYC Operations, LLC, famously known as Kettle Corn NYC, a mobile operation that he started in 2004. He introduced mouth-watering flavors to the New York City street fair scene. As a culinary professional, Ken created a multitude of amazing kettle corn flavors that folks could not get enough of.
The most popular flavors, ranging from sweet to savory to spicy are: Original Kettle Corn, Caramel Glaze, the infamous Cheddar coated Caramel, Spicy Cajun BBQ & Garlic Parm.
Kettle Corn NYC has appeared on Fox & Friends for two consecutive years (2019 & 2020) for National Popcorn Day, FoxBusiness.com (2017).
Ken has also been featured on The Rachael Ray Show, WNBC NY Live, Good Day New York, and WABC Tory Johnson’s Secret Sales. Former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg was also spotted with a bag.
In December 2014, Ken raised over $25,000 in just one month through Kickstarter to build a food truck. In May 2015, a first-of-a-kind food truck went on the road and since March 2020 has relocated to the Albany, New York area.
Ken has built an incredible following, wowing fans with delicious hand-popped flavors while providing an overall amazing experience – which is shared in Reviews and 5-Star ratings on Google, Facebook, Yelp & Instagram.

In 2009, Ken shared his secret for making kettle corn on the Food Network’s Unwrapped television series. Also that year, he participated in Citi Pond at Bryant Park in NYC (holiday shops), where kettle corn was a popular attraction for four seasons.
Ken started Kettle Corn NYC while working full time as a Chef de Partie at the 5-star St. Regis Hotel in NYC, where he was responsible for the preparation of meals for 500 people daily. After 15 years of service, he resigned in 2010 to focus on growing his popcorn business.
In the early years of the business, Ken’s truck containing all his equipment and supplies were stolen. But thanks to his resiliency & creative problem-solving skills, he was able to rebuild.
Ken attended B.O.C.E.S., a technical school for culinary arts, where a mentor saw his potential and guided him into the Professional Chef program at SUNY Cobleskill. He graduated with an Associate’s degree in the program with honors.
